I just wanted to wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving and let you know how much I appreciate being able to work with you and your dogs. Here’s some information on what you can and should not feed your dog during the holiday - as well as information on upcoming classes that you won’t want to miss!
SIGN UP IS AVAILABLE NOW FOR JANUARY CLASSES!
While many of our classes are full thru the end of the year, we do have some opening and some fun and exciting classes coming up in the new year! Here’s a quick run down of upcoming classes for you to consider, or tell your friends with new puppies about.
Puppy Play and Train (puppies 8-16 weeks of age) has openings starting after Thanksgiving.
Level 1 - Puppy Kindergarten- has new classes starting on 1/9, 1/16 and 1/31 - tell your friends with puppies to sign up soon - these classes tend to fill quickly.
Level 1 - Beginner Obedience this is for puppies/dog OVER 6 months of age with no formal training. We know your dog has some skills already, so we start where you are and built on those skills to complete the Level 1 and sometimes some of the Level 2 skills. Monday's at 11am starting 1/8/24. So if you did Puppy Play and Train but never got around to Level 1 - now is your chance!
Level 2 - Obedience (Leave it, Stays, Loose Leash walking and working around Distractions) has a new class starting 12/6 with 2 spots left and openings on Tuesdays at 12:30 starting 1/23 and Wednesday’s at 11starting on 1/10.
Level 3 - Obedience (working outdoors and in public when weather permits and indoors with increased distractions and difficulty as we learn to walk on loose leashes past each other in close proximity, play games that require dog/handler team skills, get introduced to new skills like Nosework games, new tricks and maybe a little Rally!) has openings starting immediately.
We will be doing another Tricks class on Tuesday’s at 3:30pm starting on 1/9! Anyone who has finished Level 2 or above is eligible for this class. To learn more about some of the tricks you might teach your dog click here AKC Trick Dog. BTW if you’ve done tricks before, you can repeat it and work on your Intermediate Tricks title!
We will also be starting another Rally class on Thursday’s at 12:30pm starting 1/11! The last class was so successful everyone in it signed on again to do a Rally 2 class! This is a great class for making your dog better at loose leash walking, and it’s FUN! To learn more about Rally click here AKC Rally Just to be clear, this class is NOT just for people who want to compete, it really is for everyone, but don’t be surprised if you get hooked!
If anyone is interested for a Canine Good Citizen class (must have completed Level 3), Fun Nose-work, Therapy Dog Test Prep or workshops for Recall or Leash Walking please let me know. I will be looking to Monday’s to add additional classes as demand dictates!
Detailed course descriptions and availability is available on my web site on the Classes and Services page. Of course, if you have any questions about what is next for your dog, please let me know.
